Will
The Emergency Water Removal Company You Choose
Protect You From The Hidden Dangers of
Mold?
 |
Lately there’s been a lot of
talk about the dangers of mold and what we can
do to prevent it. And while no emergency
water removal company can guarantee that a home
or a business will be mold-free in the future,
there are steps a company MUST take to make sure
that the entire building structure is dry.
Some carpet cleaning companies only
remove water from the carpet. They don’t
check the moisture content of the baseboards,
walls and ceilings, which is a critical step to
guard against future mold
growth. |
We protect our customers from
this hidden problem by measuring the moisture
content of all the water-damaged areas of the
building, with three separate moisture
meters. |
|
|
 |
The
Three Meter Protection
Method
 |
The first meter is used to check
for water in the carpet and pad. It has a
moisture sensor that reacts when it locates
moisture. This meter (pictured) is used by
MOST full-service emergency water removal
companies.
The second meter measures the
moisture content of critical areas like
ceilings, walls, baseboards and cabinets.
This meter helps determine if any part of the
building structure needs to be dried, besides
the
carpets.
| It is the most effective device a company
can use to insure against future mold growth and
it is used by some, but not all, full-service
emergency water removal companies.
The third meter is a thermal
hydrometer and it measures the temperature and
relative humidity (or moisture content) of the
air. Our certified technicians use the
thermal hydrometer during every stage of the
drying process, to insure that our drying
process is working and that our customers are
protected. |

Thermal Imaging Cameras Provide Added
Protection
 |
The last device we use to
identify water damage is not a meter at
all. It’s a thermal imaging camera, often
called an infrared camera. It’s the
absolute latest technology in our industry and
it’s employed when we suspect there might be
hidden water damage. The infrared camera
lets our customers see for themselves the full
extent of water penetration in their home or
business.
Both the infrared camera
and the thermal hydrometer are used by few if
any other emergency water removal companies in
our area. But these tools give Accutech
the confidence to offer every customer written
proof that the entire building structure and not
just the carpet, is completely dry.
| This written proof will add piece of mind
for your customers and protect your business
against mold litigation
claims.
